Eastern Delight

NOT FOR SALE

This 21″ diameter circular window panel glimmers and dances in the morning sun, with a clear beveled inset to allow for visibility of the gardens behind it.

This is a piece from my personal collection, and here’s why: I made this for my Mother, which she wanted me to have back when she passed away from old age some years ago. She loved looking at this piece in the morning hours, when the sun would shine through her east-facing windows.

The traditional English “Muffle Glass” as it’s called, (the amber colour) sparkled luminously. The beveled clear glass added elegance and transparency. I remember toiling at my then glass store and knowledge source, Glowing Panes Glassworks in Thornhill (northern suburb of Toronto), to bend the 1″ wide zinc border channel to a perfect circle!

So it’s not for sale – sorry. But … I’m happy to make something for you that celebrates the elements of this design’s delight!

River Flows Through It

(2001)

Greg made this window panel as the third in the series of gothic church-peaked themed pieces.  It is smaller than the first two, measuring 23 1/2″ x 55 1/2″.

Most notably, it has been selected as a feature branding piece for a King Township community organization for 2009: find out here.

Note post publication:  King WON Communities in Bloom in its category for 2009!  See more here.

Gothic Panel No. 1

This is the first of three in the series of gothic church-peaked themed pieces, measuring 31.5″ wide x 69″ high.

The calming colours of the depths of the ocean slowly give way to the hotter, passionate shades of the sun and sky.

Gothic Panel No. 2

(2000)

This is the second of three in the series of gothic church-peaked themed pieces, measuring 31.5″ wide x 69″ high.

Wonderful and warm peach and cobalt blues intermix with caramel tones.
