Funky Pendant Lights!

Clear fused glass with black accents and whimsical kiln carving, “draped” over a mold.

I made this unique pendant light set specifically for display and sale at my PRAXIS Gallery show in Toronto’s Queen St. West arts district (running through to December 31, 2011).

One fixture has a chrome finish; the other, in antique brass. I like the eclectic nature of this effect: both fixtures are nearly identical, but not quite; the same goes for the fused glass shades themselves – both are different, and you must see them up close to tell!

You can merely drive by PRAXIS Gallery at 1614 Queen St. West (in Parkdale at Sorauren), day or night, and see them for yourself. (Click here for map to gallery).

Below is a slideshow of the set. You’ll see one photo shows a reproduction “Edison”-type light bulb used instead of a standard clear bulb – looks even better!

Schomberg Village Street Gallery 2011

September 17-18, 10:00am – 5:00pm.  An Arts Society King event.

Come to our 3rd annual juried open-air Fine Art Show & Sale along Schomberg’s historic Main Street! (I’m Co-Chair along with fellow artist Tom Wray).

King Township has one of the highest per capita populations of artists in Ontario, and Schomberg is where they gather! Come and meet them.

This show celebrates local AND regional artists across media including oil, acrylic, glass, photography, jewellery and intaglio. Styles range from traditional to contemporary to abstract.

Schomberg’s eclectic Main Street has proven itself an ideal outdoor setting to explore and buy great, original art for any setting. Main boasts one of King Township’s best restaurants and several eateries, pubs, gourmet coffee shop and decorator stores.

Schomberg Village Street Gallery 2011 AdMany other local events are happening in town – see Schomberg.ca for more – but be careful – you might just “Fall In Love With Schomberg!”

Have a look at this year’s artists at SVSG.ca.

It’s worth the drive to Highways 9 and 27 – only 45 minutes north of downtown Toronto on this early Fall weekend! VISA and MasterCard accepted.

See you there!
