Schomberg Village Street Gallery

It’s almost here!  Saturday and Sunday (10:00 – 5:00) mark this first annual open-air juried fine art show & sale, brought to you by Arts Society King.

SVSG takes place along and by historic Schomberg Main Street with local and surrounding area fine artists and their works.  Admission is free.

GREG IS IN THIS EVENT. The front of Greg and his wife Tracy’s house will be turned into a gallery – many of his available works are for sale at his home at Dr. Kay Drive and Main Street.

Greg has been busy making some attractively priced items just for this event – great for Christmas presents or a nice Fall treat for yourself!

Check the event website for a full listing of artists, sample images of their works and biographies, plus directions and a map to Schomberg.  Greg’s advice is, park at the IGA Plaza at Hwy. 27 and Doctor Kay Drive and walk 5 minutes to Main Street.
Doors Open Ontario

Doors Open, King Township

And if that wasn’t enough, Saturday also marks Doors Open, King Township.

Gotham Glassworks barn studio and surrounding gardens will be on the tour this year

See the expert heritage restoration of an 80 year-old horse barn into a modern art glass studio on the inside, while maintaining its rustic exterior, surrounded by several dramatic perrennial gardens maintained by Greg and his wife Tracy.

You can check out the studio, the Schomberg Village Street Gallery artists and works, plus tour other King Township participating Doors Open locations, all in the same day.

Gotham Glassworks exists in what was the second story hayloft of a 30 x 18 foot heritage horse barn in downtown Schomberg, Ontario. The bottom floor is used for traditional storage of garden tools and supplies; all the “action” takes place up the stairwell, through the red screen door to your left. Continue reading Gotham Studio

Greg kept a detailed photo log of the transformation of Doctor Kay’s 80+ year old horse barn over the Winter of 2007-08.

Below you will find several slideshows that document the creation of Gotham Glassworks Studio.

Captions will describe key photos in more detail; you can pause the show using the controls at the bottom of each slideshow window.
