Studio Tour King 2018: See My Studio, My Work … and Me!

I’m participating in this year’s fabulous Studio Tour King 2018:

April 21st and 22nd, 10:00pm – 5:00pm

I’m building on my success in art glass lighting fixtures!

Many visitors also enjoy seeing the perennial gardens that surround my Gotham Glassworks Studio, including a 40-plant hybrid tea rose garden (I take care of that one).

My studio is in the rear yard of “Doctor Kay’s House” on Main Street Schomberg, a heritage home occupied by this long standing and well known Doctor from about 1909 to 1953.

Here is more on the show below:

Visitors from near and far are invited to three of King Township’s beautiful villages, all just moments apart; a weekend in ‘King’ country will not disappoint. Beauty and art are everywhere; the countryside is rich with raw materials that our artists have used to draw their inspiration.

Charming Schomberg is located in the northwest section of King Township and offers a tree-lined, quaint village atmosphere. Main Street has unique shops, superb cafes and funky restaurants and there is plenty of free parking. And as Schomberg is nestled in the northern corner of the world-famous Oak Ridges Moraine, the easy drive up and around is like driving through a natural art gallery all its own.  Artists can be found in rural Schomberg and as you drive throughout the rolling hills, your eyes will delight in the beauty. Visit our artists clustered on or just off Main Street in welcoming, warm and bright studios.

Friendly Nobleton is nested in the southwest section of King Township and at its hub, is approximately 10 minutes from King City to the west and Schomberg to the south. It offers a community full of heritage, charm and vitality.  Six distinctive artists can be found at the easy-to- access Nobleton Community Hall, in the heart of the village near cafe’s and a perfect spot for a bite.  There is plenty of free parking at the hall and once you arrive, enjoy meeting our artists and delighting in their one-of-a-kind creations.

Beautiful King City, is the largest village in the Township. Located east of Nobleton and southeast of Schomberg, this community yearns to be explored. There is a significant arts presence and much to see and do in King City; we invite you to tour the area to meet our admired artists. Nine artists can be found fairly close together in their residential studios and the balance of artists will present at the King Heritage and Cultural Centre tempting you with an ART EXPERIENCE no doubt.
